Boyhood

Cleo Leather

A Note on the Author:

Cleo Leather is a London based filmmaker and photographer currently shaping her debut feature film, set in Jersey Channel Islands, where she grew up. The making of this feature has encouraged her to document vignettes with her camera, storing memories for scene references. When you grow up somewhere, it's easy to become blind to its beauty- taking its magic for granted. To reestablish her eye, she focuses her gaze through her younger cousins' perspective, who visit the island in the summer months. Reconnecting with the island through this childhood lens, Cleo creates imagery that is pure, playful and pondering- untainted by experience. Shooting largely on 35mm film, this intuitive, instinctive exercise of capturing mundane bliss - island life - has helped craft her director's vision.
